Hello My Foodie Followers….tonight we dined at Bliss (www.bliss-restaurant.com) located on Broad Street right off Walnut. We arrived on time and were seated immediately at a great table in the middle of the restaurant. Small and intimate, Bliss offers a comfortable dining experience. Kevin, our server, was quick to take our drink order and bring over cold water for sipping. He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the menu. We started off with cocktails. I had the usual and Al had a dogfish beer. A bread basket was offered. I had a slice of focaccia and Al had a parmesan roll. For our appetizers, we opted for fresh salads. I had the special. A watermelon and feta cheese with fresh basil, a balsamic reduction drizzle and a very light spritz of olive oil. It was light, delicious and refreshing. The basil was a great add to this salad offering a great bite to the sweet, luscious bites of watermelon. I thought bleu cheese would have been a nice touch too. This would be a great lunch salad for the summertime. Al ordered a poached pear salad with bleu cheese, candied walnuts, mixed greens with a vanilla bean pear dressing. A second round of cocktails were served with our entrees. I had the crab cake, served with a jicama slaw and baby asparagus on a kiwi puree. It was light, sweet and delicious. Al ordered the shrimp and lobster risotto. A generous bowl of risotto with nice lumps of fresh lobster and several shrimp. We opted out of desserts as we were satisfied. I award Bliss 4 out of 5 Diva Crowns. Bon Appetit!
